Waxed Jumbo Jute Rope Fire Tinder with Burlap Bags

Build a dependable ember-catching tinder bundle for camping, bushcraft and emergency fire kits with thick waxed jute rope. Cut off a short section, separate and fluff the fibers into a loose bird’s nest, then ignite the exposed fibers with a suitable fire starter.

• Each rope measures approximately 1 × 5 in.

How to use

1. Cut approximately 1–2 inches from the rope.
2. Separate and fluff the fibers into a loose tinder nest.
3. Place the tinder on a stable, nonflammable surface away from unwanted fuels.
4. Ignite with a compatible ferro rod and striker, lighter or match.
5. Add progressively larger dry kindling once the fibers catch.

Fire safety

Wax treatment can help the jute resist incidental moisture, but the product is not described as waterproof and performance depends on storage, preparation and conditions. Use only where fires are legal and permitted. Keep water or another extinguishing method nearby, never leave a fire unattended and fully extinguish it before leaving.
