How to use the tinder

1. Cut approximately 1–2 inches from the waxed jute rope.
2. Separate and fluff the fibers into a loose tinder nest.
3. Place the tinder on a stable, nonflammable surface away from unwanted fuels.
4. Direct sparks from the ferro rod into the prepared fibers.
5. Add progressively larger dry kindling once the tinder catches.

Fire safety

Use outdoors only where fires are legal and permitted. Keep water or another extinguishing method nearby, never leave a fire unattended, keep away from children and flammable materials, and fully extinguish the fire before leaving.
